Growth and expansion brings controversy and economic stimulas to the area.
The White Stallion Energy company is a step closer to bringing their plant, 2200 plus temporary jobs for 5 years and over 200 permanent jobs to the area. Towns are split on the growth and progress. Concerns over the COAL based plant have the Sierra Club and many locals in litigation. The town of BAY CITY, TEXAS started gearing up for the expansion of the South Texas Nuclear Plant and the White Stallion plant several years ago. Hotels, Motels, RV Parks and many new business began their development and or expansion. Months and Months of legal josting has forced some businesses serious hardships and or to completely close their doors down. This obvious by the drive around the square in Bay City. Now White Stallion is a step closer White Stallion Cooling Water.
Double Whammy!!! The Tsunami that hit the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station in Japan halted ALL nuclear plant expansions and development worldwide. In Bay City, the STNP one of the safest in the world was in the process of doubling in size. Everything was brought to a halt!!! Now some recent activity. An additional investor. STNP PARTNER.
The South Texas Nuclear Project would result in over 6000 temporary jobs over a 5-7 year period and over 100 pemenant jobs.
This affects the travel and tourism industry in many ways. RV parks will flourish as will hotels, motels and local businesses. Housing industry will also be greatly impacted. Not to mention over 1,500,000 homes that will have power. NO more brown outs from this Texas heat.
We need more jobs and RV Parks to support the large number of people making transitions from homes to RV living. Texas has been a leader and had held its head obove water while we have seen many states is dispair. LET'S KEEP TEXAS STRONG!!!

Well we all survived the Turkey, hams, pies and trays of cookies! Hopefully you all did too and got all the gifts you wanted.
The weather has been spectacular and the progress could not have been coming along any better. We have just completed ALL of the underground utilities to include sewer, water, electric and cable TV. In total we have placed over 5 miles of underground infrastructure to support the finest RV PARK in Port Lavaca, Texas.
In the next two weeks we will be pouring concrete to complete Phase 1 to include 36 RV spaces that should be open in February 2012. Please be sure to make your RESERVATION. We are offering special construction rates until the clubhouse, pool laundry and bath rooms are opened.

Well today is Cyber Monday... We all survived Black Friday and by now hopefully the tryptophan has worn off. These are ALL buzz words we never heard some 20 years ago.
And no where in the Texas Highways Magazine featured a story about Calhoun County will you see these words. Calhoun County is the where the original seaport to Texas lies dating back to the 1800's..... The weather has been great! Huge progress! The lake is in the final stages of design. We made an executive descision. Build the Deck and build it big. The elavation is now complete and we expect to start on underground Utilities this coming week. Overview of Texas Lakeside RV Resort
Well it is official! This week we broke out the GOLD shovels and were joined by Tina Burks Crow of Port Lavaca Chamber of Commerceand several Ambassadors from First Victorial Bank, Prosperity Bank and ReMAX. The City of Port Lavaca in Calhoun County lies along the Gulf Coast of Texas between Bay City, Texas and Rockport, Texas will be the home of Texas Lakeside RV Resort .The securiy gated RV park, will boast over 97 sites, a 4000 square foot club house, 4 acre private fishing lake walking track, swimming pool, hot tub, gym, 10 private baths, media area, 2 laundry rooms, store, propane, 3 Palapas for BBQ and RV and boat storage. WOW! is all that can be said.... Delveloping this project has had me confined to either a 8 x 11.5 or a 24 x 36 inch piece of paper.... Nothing and I do mean nothing is like seeing the lake staked out. It is HUGE!!!!! I had to re-measure second guessing our GPS system..... Nope... I was wrong... "It really is the difference between a pond and a lake senor" as Johnny our foreman stated.... A friend asked if he school put his jet ski in it when done.... Well we will not have jet ski's, swimming or boats; however, we are creating more than just a hole in the ground. Working with Pond Management consultant, Rick Hodges of http://texaslakesandponds.com/ we will have a state of the art lake designed to GROW fish. The heat, rattlesnakes and rain have not stopped the progress this last week. With 2 dozers on site, the stripping of vegetation and some unwanted roots is well underway. Arriving on site this week will be two earthmoving dump trucks and a HUGE track hoe. Additional grading and clearing continues and while not comparable to Boston’s BIG DIG we will start excavation on the 4 acre lake later this week.
